In December 2002, the MBA batch of 1978 from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad reunited for their 25th anniversary. Inspired to give back to the community, they established IIMPACT – to transform rural communities by the education of the girl child.
Starting with a Learning Centre in Alwar, Rajasthan IIMPACT now operates over 1,700 centres across 11 States of India. Over 45,000 girls aged 6-14 are engaged to address gender gaps in literacy and numeracy, then transitioned into public education.
Our Vision is to transform the lives of women, families and entire communities in rural India by the empowerment of the girl child through joyful learning.
Our Mission is to enable girls, primarily between the ages of 6 and 14, from economically and socially backward rural areas of India, to get functional literacy and numeracy and become independent thinkers and life-long learners.
